Child support is established under Oregon’s Child Support guidelines. There is a formula and online child support calculator that takes into account a number of considerations that includes monthly gross income, spousal support that maybe ordered, health insurance needs and number of overnights visits each child spends with each parent. Child support is generally ordered until the child reaches age 18 or age 21 if the child is attending school full time. The court will generally set child support to what the calculator reflects but there are what are called rebuttal factors that may support a deviation.
